Building connections at Windsong.
BSS students returned this week from their exciting trip to The Windsong Peace and Leadership Center in Patagonia, Arizona.
The time spent in Arizona was jam-packed with educational experiences, service learning projects and dialogue about social and ecological regeneration.
The students and educators from BSS had many opportunities to reflect on and participate in community projects in support of the Me to We leadership program. During their stay, students built a permaculture garden at a Vocational Training Centre, worked on a rain water harvesting project, hiked the Desert, served meals at a Shelter and made life-long connections with their peers and the people at Windsong.
Erin Blanding of the Windsong Center praised the girls for their enthusiasm and determination, “It was remarkable to see them integrate so quickly into a new way of life.”
We can’t wait to hear more of the amazing stories from these students. In the mean time, here are some of the pictures from their adventure.
